1. Use Lint Roller

2. Never Rub Instead Blot

Avoid the urge to rub carpet spots vigorously. To prevent the stain from spreading or oozing, blot it from the inside out.

When you rub the spill away, this would ultimalty lead the spill to spread more into the carpet.

3. Use Iron

After vacuuming the area, use a mix of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar to treat it. Place a towel over the stain and iron over it to transfer the stain to the towel.

4. Use Shaving Cream

This trick may appear unbelievable, but it actually works. Shaving cream should be applied directly to the stain, left to sit for about 30 minutes, and then blotted clear.

To eliminate any residue, use a solution of half water and half vinegar.

5. Baking Soda

Oil stains are a big headache and as it gets ignored tends to darken with age. Dabbing with hot water isn't going to cut it. Sprinkling copious amounts of baking soda on the stain is a better method. Allow the soda to sit until the stain has faded and the powder has formed a dry crust.

After the crust has been vacuumed, dab the stain until all of the oil has been absorbed. This easy carpet cleaning tip can bring out the best in your carpet.
